The Psychology Department (http://nlu.nl.edu/graduate/psychology-doctoral.cfm) in the College of Arts and Sciences at National Louis University invites applications for an appointment in Community Psychology for our historic downtown location. Appointment may begin as early as January 2012 and is subject to budgetary approval.

National-Louis University is a not-for-profit university that annually serves nearly 12,000 students. Founded in 1886 and dedicated to a progressive philosophy of education and social justice, the University also includes the National College of Education, and Management and Business. National-Louis University has five Chicago area campuses as well as 3 out-of state Centers.

Applicants should have an earned doctorate required in Community Psychology or a closely related discipline with significant evidence of research and practice/community involvement. We are seeking applicants with a commitment to teaching excellence and an active program of collaborative research. Preference will be given to candidates with a proven track record of attracting external funding. We are especially interested in candidates who will be invested in supervising doctoral research, building the program, and partnering with underrepresented communities in the Chicagoland area.

Duties will include teaching, scholarship, and service. Specifically, roles include teaching courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels, supervising master's and doctoral research, maintaining an active research program, and committee-related service to the program, department, college, and university.
