new web resource: SPSSI Timeline Website (Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues)

Sept 1 is the 75th birthday of The Society for the Psychological Study of Social
Issues.

Established during a meeting of the APA at Dartmouth College on September 1st, 1936 at 8pm, SPSSI's founding objectives were to (1) encourage research upon
those psychological problems most vitally related to modern social, economic
and political policies, and (2) help the public and its representatives to
understand and to use contributions from the scientific investigation of human
behavior in the formation of social policies. These objectives continue to
guide SPSSI members into the 21st century.

To celebrate these objectives, SPSSI is pleased to launch a major new web
resource for social scientists, educators, policy-makers, and others interested
in the science-policy-social action nexus: the "SPSSI Was There" interactive
timeline:

Tracing over eight decades of SPSSI's commitment to using social science for
social change, the timeline offers a dynamic journey through the major social
and political issues of the 20th century and how SPSSI has responded to and
shaped these issues. Take a moment to explore the timeline, which includes a
description of the anniversary gala that was held on August 3rd in Washington,
