Trauma und Resilienz in Zeiten rassistischer
Abschottung und globaler Selbstoptimierung: Kritisch-emanzipatorische
Konzepte in der psychosozialen Arbeit
Sowohl im Umgang mit Geflüchteten als auch in der
Entwicklungszusammenarbeit nehmen psychosoziale Interventionen zu, die
von individualisierenden biomedizinischen Trauma- Konzepten und
-Instrumenten geprägt sind. Die vielfältigen alternativen Erfahrungen
von Kolleg*innen aus dem globalen Süden im Umgang mit Folgen und Gründen
von Gewalt werden weitgehend ausgeblendet. In einem transnationalen
Austausch mit Akteur*nnen der psychosozialen Arbeit aus dem Nahen Osten,
Afrika und Europa geht es um die Thematisierung und Politisierung
dieser Entwicklung, die Gefahr läuft, Prozesse der sozialen
Ausschließung ideologisch zu stabilisieren. Gleichzeitig sollen
alternative Praxen, die sich einer postkolonialen Idee von Emanzipation
verpflichtet sehen, sichtbar gemacht und verteidigt werden.

The politics of trauma and resilience – between empathy and stigmatization. A transnational exchange on critical and emancipatory concepts in the realm of psychosocial work
In Europe, we are currently witnessing increasing
incitement against refugees and migrants, as well as against those who
are in solidarity with them. In this environment, even emancipatory and
contextualized concepts of psychosocial work risk to be turned into
instruments of control and exclusion. The concept of „trauma“ originally
stands for the recognition of the psychological consequences of war and
violence. Today in the media as well as in political and academic
debates, there is a tendency to define people who have fled to Europe
blankly as a group of „traumatized and potentially dangerous risk group
in need of treatment“, and thus as a result, to pathologize and
stigmatize them. Thus, the problem of violent, segregating conditions is
turned into a problem of those affected by it. A debate about the
interrelations between social conditions and individual suffering
becomes increasingly difficult in the current political climate.
