a new petition addressing the upcoming publication of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, fifth edition (DSM-5) was released by the International DSM-5 Response Committee. The committee is co-chaired by Brent Robbins (Society for Humanistic Psychology) and Peter Kinderman (British Psychological Society) and includes professionals from around the world, including PsySR's Bradley Olsen.
The website http://dsm5response.com contains the 'Statement of Concern about the Reliability, Validity, and Safety of DSM-5' and a link to the public petition. Our slogan is: Now is the time for mental heath professionals and consumers to respond to the problems of DSM-5.
If you share our concerns about DSM-5, we invite you to read, sign, and help in sharing the petition with others whose lives and work may be affected by the new manual....which is less than two months away from publication.
